STEROPAX
A New Concept in Pharma Lubrication
STEROPAX is a much suitable lubricant than any other traditional lubricant especially wherever stability is at stake. Steropax is a non-metallic stearic complex (Silico- stearic in nature). Therefore Steropax does not catalyses hydrolyses of Aspirin as is the case with the use of Magnesium stearate. Steropax does not interfere in the stability of Vitamin groups in tablets and capsule formulation.
Steropax does not increase Disintegration Time of tablets even on long storage where as Magnesium stearate always affects disintegration time adversely. Steropax gives pearly shine to tablets as compared to other traditional lubricants.
RELATIVE PROPERTIES WITH OTHER TABLET LUBRICANTS
Material | Usual Concentration (In %) |
Glidant Properties | Anti-Adherent Properties | Lubricant Properies |
Metallic-stearate | 1 or less | None | Good | Excellent |
Talcum powder | 1 to 5 | Good | Excellent | Poor |
Stearic acid | 1 to 5 | None | Poor | Good |
High melting-point waxes | 3 to 5 | None | Poor | Excellent |
Corn starch | 5 to 10 | Excellent | Excellent | Poor |
STEROPAX | 1 to 2 | Good | Excellent | Excellent |
CONCLUSION:
STEROPAX is a much suitable lubricant than any other traditional lubricant especially wherever stability is at stake
